Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all services provided by Subtecnology Ltd, trading as Subnet1 — including repairs, data recovery, custom PC builds, sales, CCTV and alarm work, and related services. By booking a service, leaving a device with us, or using our website, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.
1Our services
We provide repair, upgrade, data recovery, custom build, sales, and security/CCTV services for computers, laptops, Macs, phones, tablets, games consoles and related devices. We will always aim to carry out work to a professional standard and to keep you informed throughout.
2Diagnosis, quotes and “No Fix, No Fee”
- We provide a free initial diagnosis and an upfront, no-obligation quote before any chargeable work begins.
- Quotes are estimates based on the information available at the time. If, once work begins, the fault turns out to be different or more complex, we will contact you with a revised quote before continuing.
- Under our No Fix, No Fee policy, if we are unable to repair your device you will not be charged for the repair. Where a non-refundable parts cost or a third-party specialist (for example certain data recovery cases) has been agreed in advance, this will be made clear to you beforehand.
3Bookings and appointments
You can book in store, by phone, on WhatsApp, or through our website and Telegram booking service. For call-out and collection services we will agree a time with you. We will do our best to keep to agreed times but cannot guarantee exact arrival or completion times.
4Your responsibility to back up your data
You are responsible for backing up your own data before handing a device to us. While we take great care with every device, repairs, upgrades and diagnostics carry an inherent risk of data loss.
Except where you have specifically engaged us for a data recovery or data transfer service, we cannot be held responsible for any loss of data, software, settings or files that occurs during or as a result of a repair. Please also provide any passwords, PINs or unlock codes needed to test the device.
5Pricing and payment
- Prices are confirmed in your quote before work begins.
- Payment is due on completion, before the device or item is returned or collected, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- We accept payment in store and on collection/delivery. We do not take card payments through this website.
6Parts and warranty
- We use quality parts appropriate to the repair. Some repairs may use compatible (non-original) parts; we will tell you where this is the case.
- Repairs are covered by a 3-month warranty on the specific work carried out and the parts we supplied, unless a different period is stated on your receipt.
- The warranty does not cover: new or unrelated faults; accidental damage, liquid damage or misuse after the repair; software issues caused by the user; or tampering with, or repair of the device by, a third party after our work. Physical or liquid damage may also affect what we are able to guarantee.
7Turnaround times
Any timeframe we give for a repair is an estimate. Completion can depend on parts availability, the complexity of the fault, and third-party suppliers. We will keep you updated and contact you if a repair will take longer than expected.
8Collection of devices and uncollected items
- Please collect your device promptly once we notify you that it is ready.
- Devices not collected within 90 days of us notifying you that the repair is complete (or that no repair will proceed), and after reasonable attempts to contact you, may be sold, recycled or disposed of to recover unpaid charges and storage costs, in line with the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977. Any proceeds beyond what you owe will be handled in accordance with the law.
9Limitation of liability
- We carry out all work with reasonable care and skill.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data (see section 4), loss of profit, or loss arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
- Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10Cancellations and refunds
If you wish to cancel a booking or a repair that has not yet been carried out, please contact us as soon as possible. Where work or parts have already been ordered or completed, reasonable charges may apply. Your statutory rights are not affected.
11Your consumer rights
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 to services carried out with reasonable care and skill and to goods that are as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality.
12Website content and intellectual property
All content on subnet1.com — including text, graphics, logos and images — is owned by or licensed to Subnet1 and is protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy, reproduce or reuse it without our permission.
13Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
14Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time you book applies to your service. Any changes will be posted here with a revised “Last updated” date.
